if you use john, he's got more clout with the vendor than a guy off the street. if he uses a vendor, rest assured they've been vetted. I had zenith carb rebuilt through john. it was returned so well done, it made restored engine compartment look a little tired! i bolted it on and never had to touch it. ditto my distributor, but john did that in house....
