The lantern is an Adlake Standard Switch Lamp made from 1920s till the 1970s and was used as attached to a track switch to indicate which direction the switch was set to. Usually has red and green lenses sometimes yellow and green for spring reset switches used on some passing or through tracks. The nail like items are tie pins used to indicate the year of installation or creosote treatment of the wooden ties and the ones with odd shapes would indicate the company that produced and treated the ties
