It's close to the pedals, but there is enough clearance. I'm also installing banjo hydraulic fittings to give me a little more clearance to the engine block.

The battery will have to go somewhere else.

A waterjet cutter is totally different from a plasma cutter. From my experience waterjet cutting is much cleaner and more precise. It can cut the holes pretty much exactly the size I want, though as the nozzle wears out the tolerances get looser. Since I'm tapping the mounting threads into the face plate, I'm having the holes cut slightly undersize, then I'll ream and tap them. Sloppy threads are not acceptable in such a critical part.
