With my old 47 WF-32..........Had not run it for a while. Christmas parade coming up (last weekend). I knew it was going to be cold so I fired it up a week before to get the carb filled. Started it a few times thru the week. Friday I went to get the truck out and it was stone cold dead. Like it didn't have a battery in it. Cleaned terminals and still nothing. Thought the battery was bad but never seen one go clear dead and my battery charger and volt meter showed it ok and enough volts (6volt pos ground system still). Took battery out (it was 7 years old) and noticed a swollen spot around the POS terminal. Took to my parts store and they tested it and it was showing half amps and tested bad. Had to order a battery and it arrived on the truck at 7pm. Took it home and put in truck and it was stone cold dead. Checked connections and by 8:45pm in 25 degree temps with 35 mph winds I decided to call it a night. Following day and used my jumper cables as test leads. Still stone cold dead. Didn't make sense. What it ended up being was the POS clamp needed to be cleaned. I had already cleaned it but this time I had to really scrub it with my terminal brush. I have never cleaned a clamp like this but that is what it took to get things working again. I had clamped my jumper cable test leads onto the clamps but since the POS clamp wasn't making good contact it didn't work. I would check your battery cable connections and really clean it all. I wonder if your transmission connection is your problem.
