That is why I have a back up pump all hooked up at the Tank area and able to work. The engines fuel pump pulls it gas right thru it but if you want to prime or your using tons of fuel on a steep long hill just hit the switch. Did the same thing on my 79 Chevy it saves the battery on those cold mornings trying to fill the bowl up so the accelerator pump will work.
