I know what you mean. I made a promise to a friend of mine, whose son is a junior in high school. She wants my '49 Power Wagon to be in good enough condition to serve as backdrop in his senior class photos, which are taken near the beginning of senior year....so less than a year from now. My truck isn't even close to being ready. I have sooo much work to do. She said that even if I could get it in condition where it appears to be complete and can be rolled out onto the driveway, then that would be good enough. I think I can do that, but I want it to be better than that. Sometimes promises are what it takes to motivate us, but sometimes we put ourselves in a pickle when we make those promises.
