One wire is pretty simple, "F" from alt. to "F" on v-reg., and "I" from v-reg. to "I" on ignition switch. On a two wire if you wire the v-reg incorrectly, it sends more amps to the ignition side causing points to burn at higher rpm resulting in misses to engine stall.
