Having worked in a plating shop for 22 years (and still doing work for them 11 years after leaving)I feel I can offer some advice.
1. The best decorative chrome plating I have ever seen (and gladly paid for) was done at Brown's Plating in Paducah, KY. I just did a Google search on them and apparently they have closed up shop. This is a MAJOR LOSS to the motorcycle and classic car world.

2. I have had work done at Graves Plating with mixed results. The work done on steel was excellent. Work done on aluminum was not so good. That was when they were first starting to do aluminum many years ago. Hopefully they have learned to do better. They are still in business after 40 plus years so that says something for them.

3. I know the owner of a small shop in Cherryville, NC. They specialize in decorative chrome. I have seen there work and it is first class. The shop is Carolina Custom Metal Finishing. It would be worth contacting them I believe.

4. Forget price. The EPA has made that a non issue. Count yourself lucky to get the work done, regardless of price.
