With a turbo if you have an intercooler i dont think the inlet temperature is really all that significant. On the diesel even though max exhaust temps can get high during normal driving my 4bt is usually more like 400 with about 900 max. So i dont think underhood heat is really that hot. I use an underhood intake and on trail rides at slow speeds i cant tell any performance or egt changes from on road with more airflow. Really i think my tow rig blow more black smoke than my m37 so either underhood temps arent too high or i need mote fuel!
