Just some thoughts. Have you considered opening up a channel Above/around the radiator? That would be out of the spray and not effect the cooling of the engine via air flow through the radiator. Above the radiator would have little to no moisture issues.
Another non outside visual change would be to draw the air from the inside of the cab by cutting an access in the firewall. Don't know how the noise of draft would be but you could run a simple butterfly, vent style paddle to only use it in hotter situations.
