Wreckers were shown in the Dodge Special Equipment Catalog. If you were a large outfit, and ordered several trucks at a time, the Special Equipment Group at the Mound Road factory would probably have installed all of the wrecker equipment for you, before shipping the trucks to your dealer. If you were a smaller business, most likely you went to your dealer and picked out a wrecker unit from the Special Equipment Catalog and it was delivered to your dealer for install, delivered to your dealer for you to pickup and install, or your dealer may have sent your truck to the facility of the vendor providing the particular wrecker body.
