I used a lot of stainless fasteners in assembling my carryall. I had a lot of rusted/badly pitted bolts. I also hate painting all those bolts.
My local hardware store has a very good selection of stainless up to 1/2 inch. Above that I drive another 10 minutes to a bolt and screw dealer. Yes they are expensive but corrosion will not be a problem. If I need a lot of one size I will buy by the box as they significantly discount box sales.
