Phil,
Firing order is:
1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2
This is the firing order for a 58 315, but the motors are almost the same, and I can't see how firing order changed.
Put #1 plug wire at the same point as the rotor when #1 cylinder is at TDC, and then put the rest of the wires in order in the direction of rotation for the rotor.
