So, tried to remove the brake drum to overhaul the brakes, and the drum will not come off. Tried penetrating oil overnight, no go. Tried heat to the point the bugger glowed and when cool enough to accept penetrating oil squirted some around wheel studs axle hub, and all the holes, no go. Securing screws are out, threaded removal bolt holes just pull the steel facing away from the drum. Shoes are all the way in and about 1/8 inch away from the drum.
What now, cut it apart with the torch and get a new drum? Is the brake assembly the same on B1-3 and WDX?
