The brand new gas tank for my 64 plymouth got here today, and the fuel pick-up also. I made the mistake of not draining the tank 15 years ago (five gallons) when I set it in the garage. the tank is total junk, had at least a cereral bowl of rust rolling around in there, I think I can save the filler neck with the glass beader, the electric holly pump and the manual hemi pump somehow escaped the carnage, took both a part to make sure they were serviceable and in good shape.I would say that its not a good idea to leave gas in your tank over six months or so. I have had the smell of gas change in the 5 gal can on the truck in as little as five mo.s. the electric pump on the power wagon looks very rough on the outside but still does alright, it will be interesting to see what the inside looks like at the end of its service life. Dave.
