Good job on fixing it. Old tools are like old friends.
I have several old Senco nail and staple guns that I can't fix anymore, but I can't bring myself to throw them away. A belt sander, a couple of old drills, and some other stuff.
I have a Skil worm drive saw that is 65 years old. A friend of mine made a new worm gear set for it years ago. It still works like new.
