I think all of the above applies to why the PW used it post war. I know you guys in farmland may not be fording water much but the PW is designed for any scenario. out in the mountains the loggers and power line companies are constantly going through water especially back in those days. plus it is just a superior system and the PW was an expensive HD vehicle that got the better design.
