some folks grind the shoes to fit the drum--otherwise might have to wear in and then readjust unless the drum is to big for the shoe or other problem---------------------a tape measure would probably tell you if you are too big---i cut a stick the exact length of the factory max. dia. and see how it fits in the drum diameter to see if you are out in left field too far
i think for the max. spec of 14 1/8 you need oversize shoes not stock shoes--if i am not mistaken---some say leave the drums alone and let the shoes wear into the grooves!!!???
i thought you put in a 1 1/4 mc(should do the job)--i would go 1 5/16 as per Paul s op
