I finally got the ole girl to fire up in her new home. Ended up having to put a new starter in it, apparently bleeding the lines was all it could take and some really acrid smoke started to roll out. It's running great, so great in fact, that it doesn't want to shut down with the key! I have to pull the fuse supplying power to the VP44 relay. I've racked my brain pouring over the wiring in the FSM and everything appears to be wired up correctly.

I'm thinking it might be the relay...seems like ive had problems with them "back feeding" and keeping power to the switch once started. Anyone care to chime in with a hammer to jog my memory?

I'm no wiring guru, heck, it took me all of last week to get it hooked up. At least my oil pressure, voltage, and temp gauges seem to be working. Tomorrow's task will be figuring out the AC and speedo...then messing with the no shut down issue...maybe take the ole Sub out for a test drive.

FYI, i am running an "ASD" relay but to my understanding it pretty much just cuts power to the solenoid pack in the transmission (47RE) when the ignition is shut off.
