see if the oil smells like fuel. fuel pump could be putting fuel into the oil pan. you have a couple symptoms that suggest that. 1. low oil pressure. 2. low compression.
I would find another shop to rebuild in the future. I bought a 'rebuilt' 230 while back that had been done in a shop and it would have lasted about 500 miles had I not checked things out. nothing was torqued properly, valve seat fitment was lame, top of block was not true, and there was a few other things I don't remember.
