Oil is such a controversial subject...everybody seems to have their own ideas of what works for them it seems.
You know, the motorcycles I race they strongly recommend special synthetic motorcycle oil at $15/quart that needs to be changed every race basically. Motorcycle oil? What's the diff?
I've been running regular ol 15-40 Rotella for 3 years now at $3/quart. Never had a failure...engine runs like new.
New oils have some advantages but I don't think you need anything special in a 230. Change it lots. At least a couple times a year...especially if you don't drive it much.
