Electric fuel pump ? OT

OK A electric pump pushes fuel not suck fuel right??? So if I Have a supply problem that darn electric pump wont help. I have driven my tucks in 90 degree days and never had a vapor lock problem. Im having a real hard time wrapping my head around this problem.
