Vapor lock

I know that this is a subject that gets kicked around a lot, especially when the words "electric fuel pump" are used on one of our precious antiques.
But here's an idea that is mentioned earlier in this current forum that I know can be expanded on…
Some guys have installed an electric pump near the fuel tank to minimize or eliminate vapor lock. I found a running truck in NM that a guy had done this while keeping the original cam driven pump. He had a little momentary lever switch on the dash and used it to prime for cranking--then his original kept it the old six running.
For my current project I have a newer ignition switch that has the momentary spring position for a solenoid starter. I will continue to use the original foot starter over the gas pedal, so… I'm thinking about installing an electric pump near the tank, only to be used when contact is made with the key starter position.
If others already do this or have tried this that's ok. There's enough newbies that read these posts, it might help.
