Bill....Not a "real" solution, but one that usually works for me. I give a thin wipe of silicone around the upper part of the base of bulb prior to installing. It forms a small bead and stabilzes the bulb. Initially, I started doing this on my boat to reduce corrosion in the light sockets and then realized the additional benefit. The only drawback is removal requires a little 'finessing' with needle nose pliers.
