I have always heard the trucks had block cracking problems. never driven one.
the olds, Pontiac, Cadillac have a different pattern than Cheverolet. that's why the common conversion in the diesel cars was olds gas engines. usually a hypo 455 from the late 60s. you didn't have an emissions test in diesel cars so the olds gassers were the answer
