then its time to toss it. Today I tossed a Troy-bilt 4 stroke weed trimmer/blower, a BriggsStratton yard edger & Husqvarna 455 chainsaw into the trash. They each had ran as recently as 2-3 months ago, but when I actually decided to use them, they failed.

Today the edger would fire only on ether. Draining & putting in fresh gas plus cleaning plug didn't work, so dumpster time. I had bought this used for $50 about 2 yrs ago. I only needed it to edge my sidewalk about 3-4 times a year. My "working" weedeater normally takes care of it the rest of the time.

Same for the Troy-bilt blower/trimmer, but this was a freebie given to me by the last guy who got tired of it, so no real loss here. It was a back-up machine anyway.

The chainsaw, that's a different story. I paid over $400 for it 10 years a ago as a gift for my Dad. The first time he used it, it failed to start & Lowe's replaced the mag under warranty. Years later when he had a pacemaker implant, he could no longer use it so he gave it back to me. It worked ever since but I didn't need it much. When I tried to start it this morning, no go. Its flat not firing, I suspect same issue as before. I always used non-ethanol premixed fuel in my 2 strokes.

It just not worth it for me to keep these seldom used/needed tools in running order year round, then have them fail when I finally call them into duty.

Rant over, just had to vent.
My junky $20 Craftsman mower worked just fine, like it does every 4 or 5 days.
