Too many complaints of vapor lock, though I have never had that prob. Except for the handful of leaves some kid stuffed into my tank.
And the only savings is across the front crossmember. PITA, but do it anyhow. Plus make a exhst mfld heat shield if you have don't have one. And a layer of braided insukation sleeve pump-to-carb. And a smaller diameter line form pump to caeb will speed up the flow, not let it get hot in the engione compartment.
