In Reply to: Glass Patterns for M-37 anyone? posted by Auto Glassics [108.162.244.24] on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 13:41:04 :

I'm glad you're considering making standard glass for M37s, but you need to learn something about "M-series" vehicles. All the glass is simple rectangular flat safety glass. Any glass shop can cut it. There are something like 3 different sizes across the whole series of M-series vehicles, from the 1/4 ton jeep and the 3/4 ton M37, and the 2-1/2, 5, and 10 ton 6x6s. I believe all are the same width, and differ only in height, but I'm not positive of that.

M-series vehicles don't really have "years". Most were built on the same pattern, sometimes by different vendors, over a period of 30 years or so. Many parts, especially electrical ones, are interchangeable across the whole series.

Now, what would really be useful to us restorers and maintainers, would be if someone would reproduce at least the inner windshield frames, and ideally both windshield frames. They are almost always rusted out and a good one, when it appears, gets snapped up immediately for a high price. At one time, I believe a Korean company was still making the inner frames, which retailed for around $150 apiece, but I haven't seen them on the market for quite a while.
