The axle flange (cover) is about 5/8" past the edge of the wheel rim. However, the wheels are Stockton Wheel, one piece reproductions, so, who knows how accurate they are compared to the original split rings?
What I do remember for sure is, measuring drum face to drum face on front axle and rear axle, the rear was about 5 1/2" narrower than the front. I had the spacers made 1/2 of that discrepancy, which put them at about 2 5/8" or 2 3/4".
