I've found a combination of OE gears that works prefectly for 11:00x16 michelins / 40" diameter.
16 teeth pinion, 5 teeth drive gear.
That is the 4.89 7.50 tire pinion, and the 4.89 9.00 drive gear. Bother were used in other vehicles. But get the screw ibn 'adapter' that matches the pinion, they came in two sizes.
