Those connectors are the way to go. Sealed and secure. I think they are usually sold as "waterproof" connectors. I've been getting them in small quantities from Napa. A little butane crack torch - glorified cigarette lighter - works great. Maybe someone can recommend a good set of crimping pliers. I have three pairs and I don't like any of them.
We have a ton of wiring to do this summer so I need to find a cheaper source for the connectors and stock up.
