Same as what Chris suggested. Only use some Sharpies to mark the rope that you hang..
Once you figure out where it all goes, you will know how much wire you need to buy, and more importantly, what lengths to cut it to.
I've used pieces of 2x4 to simulate fuse boxes.
This works for house wiring, too, by the way..
