Yep I got 4 or 5 of those IRS calls this last week. I am not sure where they are coming from but everyone of them speaks very poor English. They are not from India as the accent and wording is wrong. They are also not Eastern European as the accent is wrong. My wife jokingly asks what I did on our taxes to be sued.
The cycle for "Windows" or "Microsoft" support has come my way again. Every few months I get a bunch of calls from them. They seem to hang up when I call them liars, thieves and tell them they are no way connected to Microsoft. They also seem to hang up when I ask for the Mac ID or IP address of the computer in trouble. If they don't know that, how can they say that my computer is in trouble and how did you tie this phone number to those addresses because I never register any software? The last one that makes them go away is when I say that the only windows in this house are installed in the exterior walls.
The best policy is to never buy, commit to or provide any information to anyone who calls you no matter how dire the plea is. Even if your grandchildren are in jail in Mexico.
