Cat 22s are handy and popular little machines. I've never used or worked on one myself, but I once knew a guy over on the Kitsap peninsula who had a business building replacement parts for some part that always wore out on them that you can't get any more. The D4 is small for what I do. The 9' blade is about right but it really struggles to build road uphill on a steep hillside. I have to take very small scoops and worry every rock and root out of the way. I think a D6 would be about right. There used to be a lot of old Potlatch surplus D9s around, and you still see them mouldering away in people's fields, but I don't know how many are still working. I'd tear the hell out of everything with a machine like that, though.

I managed to get all the gaskets except for one head gasket from Norcan today, and got a set of standard size rings. Still looking for rod bearings and rear main bearing. Have not torn the motor down yet to see what size everything is. If I can't use standard rings and bearings I'm probably out of luck.
