Basically I stripped some
10 gauge primary wire, then twisted the strands so it was like a cable and then wrapped it around a pencil so it was like a coiled air hose. I soldered on end to the float arm and one end to the base of the sender itself.
Being twisted strands allows it to flex and not kink like solid wire would.
As such it does not impede the action of the float.
