That's an old small block Cummins with a supercharger and back drop manifold. The manifold is apparently what makes the sound unique. Not sure what the model # would be but it seems there was a big block (855) 270 but I thought it was an NTC270 but that has been a long time ago. Not near as long ago as when I drove a 275 like that in a '54 KW conventional. I don't recall it sounding like that at idle though.
