One of the uses, anyway.
We had a big double Western larch (aka Tamarack)on the edge of our property. These are prone to splitting off and going either or both ways. Or blowing over in a high wind, as other trees have done to us in the past.
It will fill a decent spot in the wood shed.
The butt end was over 3' in diameter.
