I was discussing the differences between WW2 US and Canadian Dodges on another forum ( sharp intake of breath there ... ) and I had to point out that the Mound Road Detroit and Windsor Ontario plants were basically just walking distance apart - not much more than the width of the Detroit River.
I've seen images of chassis arriving at Mound Road by rail car, and it occurred to me that the chassis plant might service both factories, or even more.
Where were chassis produced that were later assembled at Mound Road? and did the same facility freight chassis to Windsor as well, maybe even Los Angeles?
On site at Mound Road, somewhere else, or did each assembly plant have their own chassis facility? I'm assuming that chassis were made and stamped with the part number only, and that the chassis number was added at the start of the assembly line.
