Coincidental that we should both have the same problems, but with 180 degree results. I had a Ford 3/4 ton 4x4 with an inline 6 engine. The 3/16" bolt that held the air cleaner on fell through the carb and somehow worked it's way through the intake valve to land on top of one of the cylinders, which, on the upstroke resulted in the same reaction as it did with my Stihl, only far more disastrous and expensive.
