I bought a sand rail in pieces out of a barn one time, the owner had taken it apart to paint it and lost interest.

engine was a really nice high end vw lots of power made to run on alcohol, and so we didn't pay much attention to that as we put the rig back together, especially since it was all in one piece.

but when we tried to start the engine it would not turn. so we took the heads off to find a couple of mouse nests in the cylinders.
funny that Keith's story fits right here as well.

I never would have thought a mouse could fit in and out of an open valve but you can't argue with the evidence.

after we cleaned it out the engine fired right up and was as wicked as promised, bearly ran on 91 octane.... fun project.
