They built six or seven of those VF's. That is the Mound Road plant I think, note the tyre stickers and lack of USA number, so presumably the prototype.

VC half tons were prototyped at the end of 1939, but as late as the middle of 1940 they were still hand-converting the VC 6 Carryalls from plain panel van bodies.

I don't have any VF prototype info, but it would seem logical that they did those at the end of 39 too - basically right at the start of the 1940 model year. There is a 41-47 panel van body for the 1.5 ton chassis, but when you look at the doors, and where the panel joints are on the side of that, the panel work doesn't match the later bodies either - see the plain vertical panel behind the door that goes all the way down to the running board.

I'm reasonably sure that started off as a half or one ton panel body, with some length added behind the front doors, plus additional height in the running board panels.
