"Handling" a blow out is one thing at 30 or 40 mph, but quite another thing at speed.
I had the right rear tire blow out on a Dodge Dakota pulling a car hauling trailer at 70mph. Fortunately it was clear, dry, straight and level. But I still lost control, jack-knifed, and went off the road, down the shoulder abotu 12', then rolled 1 1/4 times, with the trailer hanging on by the safety chains. I really never thought about it until now, but I wonder if we would have rolled more if the trailer hadn't stayed connected by the chains.
