Nope. It all just depends on how the tires have been stored & just like a forklift or crane needing a "maximum lift"...tire manufacturers use the age date as the minimum lifespan of their tire.
I don't think I have a vehicle with Michelins newer than 6 years...including my daily driving truck.
That said, rubber fares better up north here & so no rules need to apply here...just common sense.
There's a reason tire guys aren't the smartest lot in the world but there's also no guarantees in life. A new tire can easily blow out under the right conditions & ive had many trailer tire incidents over the years where my trailers been loaded to capacity & it's been extremely hot.
Use your head boys. If your 11.00x16 XZL's look like new but reach the 6 year limit...give me a call...I'll come get them for you.
