What if one is in a mountain canyon in the middle of a curve, or on a steep downhill, or braking with an obstruction in the road when the blowout happens?

The problem with always "handling" a blowout is it vastly varies depending on *when* the blowout occurs.

I can tell you when it happened to me one time, as I was very sharply braking to avoid a collision with a truck and horse trailer that just pulled out in front of me while I was traveling ~55 mph, the car(1955 Pontiac Chieftain) was sideways in an instant and shortly after was upside down on the way toward the river. The sidewall blew out *because* of the extreme braking. Obviously, I did not handle it correctly. To add insult to injury, I got a ticket for old tires(tread depth was fine but dry rot was present). I learned some from this one.
