Vaughn,

This mechanical governor was an option from 1946 through 1958. The 1951 and 1953 parts manuals indicate to place orders through Pierce Governor Corporation of Anderson, Indiana. Starting with the 1956 manual, orders once again were to be sent to King-Seeley Corporation of Ann Arbor, Michigan. I have found no differences between the governors made by King-Seeley and Pierce.

In order to operate correctly, these mechanical governors must be used in conjunction with the "square top" carburetor with the integral velocity type governor. These carburetors, from 1946 through 1952, are models ET1, ET2, ET4, E7F1, and E7S1. The E7S1 carb was replaced in 1953 with the E7T1 which used a seperate sandwich type governor. However the old square top E7S1 was still standard equipment on trucks ordered with the King-Seeley/Pierce mechanical governor through 1958.

Clint
