I did some parts swapping with a friend and I will be putting a 25,000miles 69 361 with a np540 DD into my 318/np435 70 w300.The question I have is,can the 361 flywheel be used with a 383 if I decide to rebuild one and put it in?I know they are in the same family, and both are forged cranks, does it have the same camshaft bolt pattern?Anyone have any knowledge on these two motors? I want more torque and horsepower and torque. The 383 will definitely provide that. Or is it worth changing the cam and putting on a dual plane intake with 4barrel and shaving the heads to get better compression ratio from its anemic 7.2 or 7.5:1 up a couple of points. How much could I gain by just using new thicker head gaskets? Many thanks in advance for any help. Dave
