Couple other questions...
I, too, have this low oil pressure syndrome. Sounds common, so my question would be how long before I have to deal with it? I doubt I'll ever have the truck over about 35mph, and most drives will be slow and short, so it will hardly have time to warm up....
Other question...do all of these engines have normal bearings? Were any of them babbitted and if so, what was the cutoff?
next...I expect that I will have to replace or rebuild the engine in the next year or two whether it throws a rod or not... I'm not real fond of V-8 engines (or any V engine for that matter). Would a slant-6 conversion be feasable with the current running gear? Seems that would gain some power, they are rock solid engines, and they are a dime/dozen.
