I bought some NOS springs several years ago, but just now getting around to taking the stacks apart and painting them before installation. When I took them apart, I found that there was some pretty bad corrosion on some of the leaves. I don't mean minor surface rust, but deep pitting. I thought about it for a bit, then decided to go ahead and use the springs anyway, since I don't do much heavy work. Also, to my knowledge, a broken spring won't cause catastrophic failure of the suspension system (i.e., loss of vehicle control or such). I figured I'd try it, and if need be I can always have some springs made new.

I priced out the cost of some new springs, and the quote I received over the phone was about $150 per side for the front springs.

Good luck,

Matt
