I'm also looking for a water pump for my '61, so I'm following these posts, and now I'm confused again. Kurt says the part numbers are good. He's got one on his '49. Well, the '49 is a 230cid and the water pump is different on the 251.
I saved a couple of posts from back in July of this year. One person says Car Quest No. AUT 10-502, $32.88 less exchange.
Dean in Bishop, CA says Car Quest No. NWP 713, this is a rebuilt, $30.49, less core. A new one is $68.38
Sounds like you need to call Car Quest and run some of these numbers past them, but be clear that you need one for a 251.
I'll be calling them myself tomorrow. I let you know what I find out.
