The Talladegas beat up on the Winged Mopars so badly that NASCAR forced the Winged Mopars to run a small block in 1971, or could run the HEMI in a (b)-rick bodied car.
This does not make sense.

But you must consider that King Richard WAS driving a Talladega for the 1969 NASCAR Season, so perhaps with him at the wheel it was possible to beat up on a Daytona. But on the long tracks?

Was it not the Winged Mopar Daytona that broke 200 mph at none other than TALLADEGA raceway?

I think ford should have been forced to factory INSTALL the 429 Boss in a Talladega or Cyclone Spoiler as this was fords NASCAR entry, not the Mustang.

Brian - I did get to view a Torino King Cobra, ford's prototype built with the intention of trying to beat the superior Winged Mopars. Seems that the factory sposorships were backing out by that point, with ford being the first to go.

No go back to the gargage and work on that cobra, while I go drive my Superbird.
